This Classic design actually was named by Tennis Player Chris Evert at the 1987 US Open, where she suddenly stopped mid-match and asked the officials for a time out. When asked about it in an interview, she said her diamond bracelet broke and fell off her wrist she called the missing piece of jewelry her “tennis bracelet,” and so the iconic name was born.
